Sometimes, a band's big break can come as a result of other media. Remember Jet's Are You Gonna Be My Girl blasting throughout Apple's iPod advertisements? And of course, Phanton Planet's California could be heard during the opening credits of the once wildly popular show, The O.C.
Actually, it doesn't need to be that be of a deal. Even if your band's song is heard during just one episode of an increasingly popular new show, that could give you exposure months of hard gigging could never achieve.
That's what happened to 2AM Club, when their song used in an episode of Pretty Little Liars, a hot new show in the US.
Sure this band got a lucky break but that doesn't mean they don't deserve it.
2AM Club blends a mix of seemingly every major genre; pop, hip-hop, new wave, electro and soul to create a unique sound that still sounds positively familiar.
All 6 members; singer Marc Griffin, emcee Tyler Cordy, guitarist Matt Reagan, keyboard player Dave Dalton, drummer Ian O'Neill and bassist Matt Warshauer, AKA “Sauce”, bring to the table a collection of different influences sees the band go a variety of ways in their songs.
Having said that, these guys are quite something because it is one thing to have all that music, it is quite another to mix it all quite so nicely.
The band may have gotten their big break since forming in 2007 from a TV show but we'd like to think that they only managed to get the platform they deserve to showcase their great music.
